Welcome Jolene Brown

Greenlife Industry Australia (GIA) welcomes Jolene Brown on board as our new Administration Coordinator. Jolene has extensive experience in marketing and administration in Australia and abroad.

Jolene has over 30 years’ experience in marketing and administration, across a range of industries including music, travel, and tourism in different parts of the world, such as South Africa, the United Kingdom, the British Virgin Islands and Australia. Jolene has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Industrial Relations and Journalism/Media Studies, as well as a post-graduate Certificate in Marketing.

Jolene was attracted to the role of Administration Coordinator with GIA as she likes to be involved in a variety of tasks across an organisation and, in her words, she likes a challenge!

Jolene also likes an adventure and has even survived a sky-diving accident! “It gave me a renewed sense of appreciation of what is important,” explains Jolene, “After that I adopted my philosophy in life – you only live once, and the world is a big place waiting to be explored!”

In her spare time away from work, Jolene has two passions – surfing and travelling.

Jolene has visited over 50 countries including Bolivia, Chile, Hungary, Canary Islands, Alaska and Ascension, a tiny volcanic island in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean where she spent her childhood years.

“I have seen some spectacular scenery and landscapes such as the Nazca deserts of Peru, the salt flats of Bolivia and the lush Amazon Jungle, the tulip fields of the Netherlands, the Namaqualand wildflowers and the tea plantations in Sri Lanka,” says Jolene.

“However, there is nothing better than starting the day with a surf at sunrise!” continues Jolene, who regularly catches a wave at 7 Mile Beach in Gerroa, “The connection I feel to the ocean and the beauty of nature brings me an inner peace and sets me up for whatever the day may bring.”

Perhaps given her passion for travelling and surfing, it should come as no surprise that palm trees are Jolene’s favourite plants. “I love palms as they remind me of holidays in the tropics!” Jolene explains.

However, Jolene admits that she was not recruited to GIA for her plant skills: “I am not a gardener at all!” Jolene says firmly.

Indeed not! However, fortunately for GIA, Jolene is an excellent administrator and has more than a few marketing skills up her sleeve.
