Workshop Invitation: Sustainable packaging in horticulture, 16 February
We've made plenty of progress over the summer, so please join us for the next instalment on our path to packaging sustainability in horticulture.
ONLINE WORKSHOP: 11am Tuesday, 16 February 2021
DURATION: 2 hours
At the November workshop, we confirmed the approval of our National Product Stewardship Investment Grant funding application and outlined the action plan for the next three months to get the project underway. We are on track and will report back to the group on the progress made since November.
Work will be ramping up on Stage 1 of the project plan, as we develop the Business Case that will underpin the recovery program. We will be seeking input and support from the group as work progresses and we will update the group on what to expect and when - we can't do this without your participation to make sure we get it right.
The summer homework assignment set at the November meeting has provided some great information on the stakeholders we need to involve in the program and many thanks to those who took time to provide their valuable input. We will review that feedback and check in with the group to fill any gaps that we've need to be filled.
And as discussed at the last meeting, there are other packaging sustainability challenges that the working group can help to tackle, so we will start that wider discussion for 2021 with media bags soft plastics and how we can improve recovery and reprocessing of those materials. For those working group members interested in this topic, please share details of the workshop and invite your growing media packaging suppliers to help us reach along the packaging value chain and include all the relevant participants.

We look forward to seeing you after the summer festivities, ready to work on some exciting, industry-led packaging sustainability outcomes for 2021.
