New Pesticide Minor Use Permits – May 2022

Six Minor Use Permits (New Applications) have been approved by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) for the nursery industry within the last month. Minor Use Permit numbers PER91921, PER91923, PER91928, PER91929, PER91941 and PER91944 are now available as described below.
Through the ‘National biosecurity and sustainable plant production program’ (NY20001), levy funds and additional contributions from the Australian Government were used to apply for these six new Minor Use Permits (MUPs).
PER91921: Multi-Insecticide MUP - Voliam Targo (abamectin + chlorantraniliprole), Dominex (alpha-cypermethrin), Azamax (azadirachtin), chlorpyrifos, Dimilin (diflubenzuron), Dimethoate (dimethoate), Lannate (methomyl), Pirimor (pirimicarb), Admiral (pyriproxyfen) for Nursery stock, cut flowers and ornamentals (non-food) including – seedlings, tubes, potted colour, trees, shrubs, foliage plants, palms, grasses, fruiting plants (non-bearing), cut flowers and ornamentals. This MUP is for various HEMIPTERA pests (aphid, green vegetable bug, leafhopper, mirids, psyllid, Rutherglen bug, stink bug, whitefly).
PER91923: Multi-Insecticide MUP - Coragen (chlorantraniliprole), Sero-X (Clitoria ternatea extract), Teppan (cyclaniliprole), Proclaim (emamectin), Insegar (fenoxycarb), Prodigy (methoxyfenozide), Pyganic (pyrethrins) for Nursery stock, cut flowers and ornamentals (non-food) including – seedlings, tubes, potted colour, trees, shrubs, foliage plants, palms, grasses, fruiting plants (non-bearing), cut flowers and ornamentals. This MUP is for various LEPIDOPTERA pests (apple looper, cluster caterpillar, diamondback moth, fall armyworm, heliothis, lepidopteran adults and larvae, lightbrown apple moth, looper, soybean looper).
PER91928: Multi-Insecticide MUP - Voliam Targo (abamectin + chlorantraniliprole), Lancer (acephate), Dominex (alpha-cypermethrin), Azamax (azadirachtin), Chlorpyrifos (chlorpyrifos), Dimilin (diflubenzuron), Karate (lambda-cyhalothrin), Lannate (methomyl), Success Neo (spinetoram) for Nursery stock, cut flowers and ornamentals (non-food) including – seedlings, tubes, potted colour, trees, shrubs, foliage plants, palms, grasses, fruiting plants (non-bearing), cut flowers and ornamentals. This MUP is for various LEPIDOPTERA pests (armyworm, cutworm, fall armyworm, lepidopteran larvae, looper).
PER91929: Multi-Insecticide MUP - Teppan (cyclaniliprole), Mainman (flonicamid), Pestoil (petroleum oil), Pyganic (pyrethrins), Success Neo (spinetoram), Movento (spirotetramat) for Nursery stock, cut flowers and ornamentals (non-food) including – seedlings, tubes, potted colour, trees, shrubs, foliage plants, palms, grasses, fruiting plants (non-bearing), cut flowers and ornamentals. This MUP is for various THYSANOPTERA pests (Greenhouse thrips, melon thrips, plague thrips, thrips, Western flower thrips).
PER91941: Multi-Insecticide MUP - Voliam Targo (abamectin + chlorantraniliprole), Lancer (acephate), Dominex (alpha-cypermethrin), Azamax (azadirachtin), Chlorpyrifos (chlorpyrifos), Lannate (methomyl) for Nursery stock, cut flowers and ornamentals (non-food) including – seedlings, tubes, potted colour, trees, shrubs, foliage plants, palms, grasses, fruiting plants (non-bearing), cut flowers and ornamentals. This MUP is for various THYSANOPTERA pests (thrips, Western flower thrips).
PER91944: Multi-Insecticide MUP - Voliam Targo (abamectin + chlorantraniliprole), Dominex (alpha-cypermethrin), Azamax (azadirachtin), chlorpyrifos, Teppan (cyclaniliprole), Dimilin (diflubenzuron), Lannate (methomyl) for Nursery stock, cut flowers and ornamentals (non-food) including – seedlings, tubes, potted colour, trees, shrubs, foliage plants, palms, grasses, fruiting plants (non-bearing), cut flowers and ornamentals. This MUP is for various COLEOPTERA and ORTHOPTERA pests (beetle, grasshopper, locust, stem borer, weevil).
