New horticultural video series gets a big thumbs up!
By Gabrielle Stannus, Communications Coordinator
Greener Spaces Better Places have launched a new horticultural video series called School of Thumb in a bid to get more Australians growing. Find out how your retail nursery or garden centre can get involved by bringing School of Thumb to your very own audiences.
Greener Spaces Better Places is a movement that brings together community, growers, government, and business to make Australian homes, streets, and suburbs the greenest in the world.
Greener Spaces Better Places’ new video series, School of Thumb, features comedy queen Claire Hooper, a member of the family behind the much-loved Zanthorrea Nursery in Western Australia (WA). Throughout this video series, Claire works with a group of plant experts to help solve the public’s gardening guesswork, Australia wide.
The series has just finished production on its first run of episodes in Western Australia. Across the first three episodes, Claire and the plant experts tackle the common gardening grumbles of three WA locals, covering:
- Growing in hot conditions,
- Increasing your veggie yield, and
- How to grow a sustainable garden from scratch.
School of Thumb is set to visit other states soon too, rolling the cameras on our east coast states next, to give gardeners super local horticultural advice.
The first episodes have begun sprouting to the public from the @GreenerSpacesBetterPlaces Instagram channel, aiming to increase demand for greenlife products.
Retail nurseries and garden centres can get involved by bringing School of Thumb to your very own audiences. Housed on Instagram, the series is designed to be easy to share so you can spread the word and get Australia growing!
