New GIA CEO appointed
By Glenn Fenton, GIA President
Earlier this year, the Board of Greenlife Industry Australia (GIA) made a very important decision - to seek a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). These decisions are incredibly important for any organisation, and they are inextricably linked to our shared vision for the future of the industry.
In the months that followed, the Board engaged a highly reputable executive recruitment agency in a global search. After an exhaustive selection process, I am very pleased to announce that Ms Joanna Cave will be our new CEO.
Jo has over 25 years’ experience as a CEO and brings both international and Australian CEO experience to our industry. Jo has led various peak bodies, membership bodies and non-profits with a successful track record of taking organisations into new eras. In addition, Jo is a qualified horticulturist and passionate gardener.
“GIA occupies a unique and important position in Australian horticulture. I am absolutely delighted to be offered this opportunity to lead GIA at the crucial stage in its history and to build on its achievements to date” said Jo, who is looking forward to meeting GIA’s members.
Over the next couple of months, Jo will balance the completion of her existing contractual obligations with attendance at key GIA and member activities, before commencing full time in late January 2022. The Board would like to congratulate Joanna on her appointment, and we look forward to working with her and her team in the future.
