Running from 17th-21st September 2023, the 75th Association of International Production Horticulture (AIPH) Annual Congress took place alongside the 2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo in South Korea. GIA is a member of AIPH. Over the last 75 years, AIPH has assisted cities throughout the world in holding world class horticultural expos that leave legacy gardens and spaces for their people to enjoy. In recent years, AIPH has been a world leader in establishing the Green Cities Awards and the Green Cities Forum, that highlight and promote the benefits of green cities. The AIPH Green City Conference was held during the Congress and I was invited to provide a presentation on the investment and research being undertaken by Hort Innovation’s Frontiers Fund – Green Cities. There is considerable international interest in the success that Australian cities are achieving in transitioning their cities to Green Cities. GIA will continue to remain connected with AIPH and the Green Cities programme to promote Australian production horticulture and the work being undertaken in Australia on Green Cities.
