Export Industry - Regulatory Duplication Survey
By Commonwealth Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment
The Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment (DAWE) are working on a project to identify areas of overlap, duplication and areas of potential mutual recognition between state, territory and commonwealth governments for those businesses working in the plant (horticulture and grain) agriculture sector. DAWE are looking to engage with industry participants who work in the interstate plus international plant export trade (farmers, packhouses, authorised officers, exporters, registered establishments, treatment providers, transporters).
How is consultation happening?
DAWE are looking to engage with industry (businesses) through a Have your Say Survey which goes live on 7 June 2021 and/or via face-to-face consultation sessions. DAWE are also looking at collecting feedback in the form of grower submitted videos. The videos will be used to promote further industry consultation processes and showcase what DAWE are doing, to get as many people interested and engaged in the consultations as possible. The videos may be included on social media and/or other online sources. DAWE will also use the videos during their consultations with state and territory agriculture departments, to put a human face on discussions and decisions.
How you can help?
DAWE are seeking your assistance to either submit a video and/or nominate yourself if you think you would like to be involved in the process. Please provide your business name if you are involved in interstate plus export trade so that DAWE can make contact with you. Please email Marian Blake at DAWE for further information: Marian.Blake@awe.gov.au
Video Information
If you wish to send in a video please review the consent from and key questions DAWE are seeking answered by your submission. Videos need to be recorded and returned to DAWE by midday 03 June 2021 to be included in the state/federal government forums.
