Retailers: Take the pre-Spring break you deserve!
By Gabrielle Stannus, Communications Coordinator
Before the Spring rush, why not treat yourself to a little break away from your retail nursery or garden centre? Get out of your business to work on your business whilst enjoying some time networking and socialising at two great greenlife industry events.
26-27 July 2022
Gold Coast Turf Club and Event Centre
The Nursery & Garden Industry Queensland (NGIQ)’s Green Expo is a showcase of Australia’s greenlife industry. The Green Expo is open to allcomers in the greenlife industry, including growers, allied suppliers, retail nurseries and garden centres.
On display at the Green Expo will be a huge range of greenlife including potted colour, indoor foliage, advanced trees, shrubs, groundcovers, tubestock, exotics, natives, succulents, ornamentals, tropicals, water plants, grasses and landscape lines. Garden Centre supplies will also feature, including hand tools, plant stands, trolleys, giftware, signage, and packaging.
Specialists in essential business solutions will be on hand to discuss your superannuation, insurance, computer soft-ware, hardware, online resources, and information technology needs. Many of their products have been developed specifically for the nursery industry. Accredited education and training providers with industry specific knowledge will also be available to answer your questions. Plus, there will be the latest information on industry research, projects, and resources available for business improvement.

8-9 August 2022
Luna Park, Sydney
After a three-year COVID-19 enforced absence, the Independent Garden Centres (IGC) Conference & Trade Expo is back. Targeting independently owned ‘bricks and mortar’ garden centre retailers, this event will also feature a range of greenlife, as well as homeware, gifts, pots and more.
Keynote speakers include Chris Sargent and Bonnie-Marie Hibbs from Plants Management Australia and Tony Collins from Ball Australia, who will be providing retailers with an understanding of industry trends and developments to help you better direct your business’ marketing efforts. David Westgate, who speaks for the Black Dog Institute, will also present on the importance of looking after your mental health, an area especially important given the lows of the last two years as we navigated our way through the COVID-19 pandemic.
“There is no other retail focused event on the calendar that deals with market insights, professional development, and has a huge focus on networking,” says Evan Mueller, IGC’s Chief Executive Officer, “Our event will give you an opportunity to get out of your business to come and work on your business, whilst meeting and learning from other retailers. We now have representatives from every state and territory who will be in attendance.”
NB. The conference and trade expo will be held on Tuesday 9 August. It will be preceded by a social night at the Greenwood Hotel in North Sydney on Monday 8 August.
