The Fair Work Commission Publishes Updated Nursery Award
Members should be aware that updates to the Nursery Award 2010 were published on 20 June 2019 and include the decision of the Expert Panel for the Annual Wage Review 2018-19 to include increases to the minimum wage of nursery industry employees.
The new minimum wages detailed in Table 1 below, incorporates increases in the hourly rate which range from $0.56 at Grade 1A to $0.79 at Grade 6 and come into effect following the start of the first full pay period that commences on or after 1 July 2019.

There are some variations and exceptions to the applicability of minimum wage which are comprehensively detailed in determination. Members are encouraged to review the amendments and assess the relevance of the changes to their individual circumstances.
