2 New Minor Use Permit Issued by the APVMA
Greenlife Industry Australia (GIA) has been issued the Minor Use Permit for ACTINOVATE BIOFUNGICIDE for the management through suppression of a range of plant pathogens Nursery Stock (non-food) including: Fusarium wilt, Powdery mildew, Phytophthora root rot, Pythium damping-off, Rhizoctonia rot (suppression). ACTINOVATE BIOFUNGICIDE contains the naturally occurring soil dwelling bacterium Streptomyces lydicus WYEC108 which colonises plant roots and kills, repels or starves pathogenic microbes through the discharge of antagonistic byproducts. ACTINOVATE BIOFUNGICIDE is most effective as a preventative, no recorded curative action, therefore apply this product via incorporation within growing media particularly at each staging (potting on) of the crop.
The second Minor Use Permit issued recently to GIA is for the extension of VERSYS INSECTICIDE label to cover ‘Nursery Stock’ not just ‘Ornamentals’ for a number of pest insects including; Green peach aphid, Black peach aphid, Cabbage aphid and Cotton/melon aphid plus the addition of Silverleaf whitefly. As VERSYS INSECTICIDE is a Mode of Action Group 9D active the product is a useful alternative to neonicotinoids insecticides when required.
Greenlife Industry Australia (GIA) manages the pesticide Minor Use Permit (MUP) program on behalf of the nursery industry under the levy funded National Nursery Industry biosecurity Program (NY15004). Minor Use Permits available at: www.nurseryproductionfms.com.au
